Suggestions for Our Next Book in English
By: Ethan Lenox and Zackary Grindstead
From 2018 to 2019, our freshman class has read many kinds of books, like Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet. In English I, we have just finished The Great Gatsby, and English II, they have just finished or almost have finished The Catcher and the Rye, and I wonder what Mrs.Welsh will let us read next. There are thousands of choices she can make and it may be a hard decision for her to choose only one or two depending on the different classes. There are also many genres for each of those books. That is why have a few suggestions to what books we should read next for our English class.
One of the books should be some made by Stephen Hawking. he has very well known books like It, and Pet Sematary, which has a movie coming out shortly. His books are made to be scary towards the reader, which would be interesting to read for me and the rest of the class (hopefully). Another good author that my friend suggested for our class to read is H.P Lovecraft. He is another author that makes horror books, but also makes them into a fantasy and writes books about topics some people do not know a lot about, like The Call of Cthulhu and At the Mountain of Madness. he makes his books scary in a scientific way, including adventures of people v.s monsters and aliens, and sometimes stories about space.
Overall, these are just options of books and authors that I think we should try and read in English class. They also aren't the only options, I am just spit balling out ideas to the class and my opinion about them. Mrs.Welsh can choose what ever book she wants, she may already had a book in mind for us anyway. I'm curious to see what book we will be reading in the future.
