Childhood Memories
Remember when you were younger and didn’t have to worry about stress, money, social media, right from wrong, etc? The list can go on. And that’s why childhood was so great. You didn’t have to worry about every little mistake you might make. You could just make a mess, go outside and play tag with your friends, and get dirty. Yeah, I miss it. The possibilities were truly limitless.
Things that happen to us as a child can impact us long into our adult lives. People who have experienced a dramatic event suffer from long term trauma For example, it can lead to criminal behavior, mental issues, abuse, and a lose oftheir ability to control their emotions. The trauma can also lead to a lose of coping skills, depression, nightmares, or they just might lack the ability to feel emotions. So not exactly pleasant. Our childhood is a big point in our lives that can have the ability to make us who we are today.
Traumatic events can be difficult to deal with and there isn’t a time period on how long it can take. In some cases, we can’t dealt with it in healthy ways. In the book, Catcher In The Rye, the main character, Holden, sees childhood as the ideal state of being so he never wants to grow up because he believes adulthood is just basically B.S.
As you can see, childhood is a major part of your life that can impact you in many ways, good or bad. Childhood is an amazing thing and is the beginning of you and your experience and it’s your time to explore.
