Are Open Mikes Needed In School???

Open Mikes are extremely helpful and good for the people of our society. It lets people to have access to have a place that allows them to express their problems and inner thoughts to others that may or may not have the same thoughts. It also keeps the life of poetry in a safe state since Open Mikes are very involved with the art of poetry. The poetry itself does not need to about one's thoughts however it will be the most impact to other if it is. I say this because it may connect to others in a way and it could impact them.
                                                      Although Open Mikes may be good sources to express inner thoughts, i believe Open Mikes should not be something that schools should focus on. Kids and teenagers have a ton of assignments and projects for school, and they may not have time to write or work on their poetry in their free time. There may be some that can create poetry, on top with their homework. However, that is not everyone, most kids and teenagers like to used their free time on things like games or activities, such as sports. There are also other places that allows them to express their emotions and thoughts. For example, social media allows kids to have a platform, where they can say anything they want. Most kids and teenagers use this platform and is used a lot in our society. There may be kids that want to perform their poetry to others, and school could be a place for them, but a Open Mike is not really necessary. Kids could always ask their teacher to perform their poetry in front of classmates and they can always go to nearby Open Mikes. Schools should just focus on the school itself as a whole and their academics, not on Open Mikes.
