A movie made by Baz Luhrmann is a modernized depiction of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. By only watching the movie a little and having already read Romeo and Juliet that the movie is far superior for its humor rather than accuracy. Though the book shows more of a sense of dramatic love the movie shows more of a dramatic feud. With examples like a gang war, blowing up gas stations, and the sheer size of some of the fight scenes. There are some likenesses between the two, like the names of the characters in the movie are the same as the characters in the book and are portrayed nicely along with the speed of which they were speaking the lines. The effect are a little too intense in some scenes obviously for dramatic affect and the way the characters act are very dramatic too. All in all the movie is trash but pretty funny and portrays the characters and the feud of the houses accurately. It could have been a lot less dramatic and if so would have been a much better movie, and at the same time, this is only at the beginning of the movie. But I think the book is better (change my mind).
